After being featured on an episode of the TV show “Gossip Girl”, the song quickly shot up the charts to the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

“Violet Hill” is a fuzzy guitar rocker that is anthemic, forceful and smart. The politically charged track has been described by lead singer Chris Martin, as having a “chalky, pastel feeling”. The album, which takes it’s name from a Frida Kahlo painting, has reached the top of the UK charts.

His latest album “Tha Carter III” was one of the most hotly anticipated hip-hop records of the year and was originally meant to be released in 2007. After several delays, it’s out and available now.
